Air Fryer Cook

Sweet and zesty cauliflower in air fryer recipe

Cauliflower is an excellent option if you’re looking to add more vegetables to your diet. It’s a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making it a healthy choice for any meal.

Plus, cauliflower is low in calories and carbs, making it a great alternative to rice. It also has a similar texture to rice, making it a perfect recipe substitute. This is a good way for rice lovers to cut down on calories and carbs.

There are so many ways to cook cauliflower, but my favorite is air-fried cauliflower because it’s quick to cook with little effort. Have a look at some of our other easy air fryer recipes.

Things to note:

Buying cauliflower: The key is to find a firm, white head with tightly packed florets. Avoid cauliflower with brown patches or spots – this is a sign of age.

Storing cauliflower: When you store cauliflower, it’s essential to keep it in a cool, dry place. Cauliflower can be stored in the fridge for up to a week and should be wrapped in plastic or placed in a sealed container. If you’re not going to use it within a week, you can also freeze cauliflower. To do this, wash and chop the cauliflower into small pieces, then place it in a freezer bag. Cauliflower can be stored in the freezer for up to six months.

Preparing cauliflower: Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower. Next, cut the cauliflower into florets. Once the cauliflower is cut into florets, try to cut these florets into a similar size. This is because when they are placed into the air fryer basket, you want them to be as level as possible for even cooking. Then you will need to rinse them off with cold water. After rinsing the cauliflower, you must pat it dry with a paper towel.

Handy tip- Cauliflower grows in tight clusters, making it easy for little insects to hide there. Soak the cauliflower florets in salt water for 30 minutes before seasoning and cooking to ensure that these little insects are removed.

Layering in the air fryer: Do not overcrowd the air fryer when putting the cauliflower florets inside the basket. Overcrowding will make the food cook unevenly, resulting in some pieces being undercooked and others being burnt. The best practice would be to place the florets in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket.

The air fryer basket usually has a non-stick coating; however, it does make it easier to lift the florets out if you use air fryer parchment paper or silicone air fryer liner. This is because the cauliflower florets will become soft, and some tips may stick to the basket, which makes lifting them out of the air fryer basket tricky.

  2. Toss them in a salad with avocado, beef strips, cherry tomatoes, and chopped spring onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then drizzle some olive oil and toss everything together.
